Brian S. Shields earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois in 1987. In 1990 Mr. Shields graduated from DePaul University School of Law and in 1991 became licensed to practice law.
While in law school, Mr. Shields was a clerk for Robert Pantoga and Associates in the Evanston Office. Upon being licensed to and entering the practice of law, Mr. Shields worked as an associate for Robert Pantoga and Associates, practicing criminal and traffic in Cook and local counties in the State of Illinois, with Mr. Shields handling all aspects of the firm’s practice.
With an office on Michigan Avenue in Chicago, Mr. Shields opened his firm in 1992. The law firm of Brian S. Shields now has an additional office near the Criminal Courts building in Chicago, one half-block north of 26th and California.
Mr. Shields concentrates his practice in the area of criminal and traffic defense in the State of Illinois. Mr. Shields also specializes in the area of defense of DUI cases in the State of Illinois.
Mr. Shields has successfully defended criminal matters in the State of Illinois for the last 25 years. He has achieved findings and verdicts of not guilty in charges of murder, attempted murder, drug conspiracy, possession with intent to deliver and criminal sexual assault. In 1994, Mr. Shields attended the national Criminal Defense College in Macon, GA. Mr. Shields is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and a member of the Criminal Justice Committee of the Illinois State Bar Association.
Mr. Shields has successfully defended over 100 charges of driving under the influence, achieving findings of not guilty in both felony and misdemeanor cases. Mr. Shields is a member of the Traffic Laws Committee of the Illinois State Bar Association as well as an annual attendee of the Defend with Ingenuity DWI Seminar of the National Association of Criminal Defense lawyers held in Las Vegas, Nevada.
